Giving Week is back! Here are heartwarming and exciting ways to wrap up the year.

Giving Week (Dec 1-7) is a national movement that celebrates the spirit of giving and seeks to make giving part of our way of life. It is a time when brands, non-profits and people give and share their Time, Talent, Treasure and Voice to support any cause they are passionate about in all ways, big and small.

Whether shopping, dining out with family, buying groceries or having a coffee break with a colleague, there are so many opportunities to give to others and be a part of the effort to make Singapore a City of Good.

If you’re wondering how to kickstart your giving, here are some of this Giving Week’s most anticipated highlights:

Support families with Courts and Care Community Services Society

If you’re shopping for your home at the flagship Courts Megastore in Tampines, why not pick up a handmade handicraft at the same time? Courts is partnering Care Community Services Society to host a booth at the store, selling products such as tote bags, couch cushions and pouches made by the organisation’s beneficiaries. 100% of the sales proceeds will go to helping children from low-income families, youth-at-risk, vulnerable seniors as well as former prison inmates seeking to reintegrate into society. The booth will be at the store on the weekends of Nov 9-10, 16-17 and 23-24! So keep an eye out for a great way to help support other families, while you shop for your own.

Fulfil a Christmas Wish with d’Good Café and Touch Young Arrows

The next time you stop for a cup of tea and cake at d’Good Café, take a look at their Christmas trees. From Nov 15-Dec 13, d’Good Café will be featuring Christmas wish trees at their cafes, with the wishes of underprivileged children and their families from Touch Young Arrows, an educational, social and emotional support programme run by Touch Community Services for children from low-income or single parent families. All you need to do is pick up a Christmas wish from a tree, purchase the gift within the budget of $30 to $50 and deposit the wrapped gift back at the café. It’s as easy as that to make a child’s wish come true this Christmas season.

Dine with Iron Nori and St. Andrew’s Autism Centre

Here’s a way to feed both your hunger and your desire to give back! From Dec 1-7, the special-needs crew at Iron Nori will be featuring a special Giving Week menu and will be donating the proceeds to St. Andrew’s Autism Centre (SAAC). SAAC is a non-profit organisation that focuses on education and running a school, training and care of people with autism and their families, a home for adults and two Day Activity Centres. Iron Nori is a 11-year-old special needs restaurant, manned by persons with disabilities (PWDs). You can support their good work and have a hearty meal at the same time!

Heading out for a celebration, happy hour or a night out with friends? Have a cocktail at Grand Hyatt Singapore! From Dec 1-7, Grand Hyatt Singapore will be selling a Giving Week cocktail, with the proceeds donated to Beyond Social Services. Named “Gift of Love and Care”, the cocktail is concocted with Nordes Gin, Rose Syrup and Aperol to give it a bitter and sweet complex representing the struggles and jubilation of life. So stop by Grand Hyatt Singapore for a cocktail and raise your glass to love and care! Gift of Love and Care will be sold at $15++.

The giving spirit is within all of us, and it can be part of our everyday lives. So choose to give in a way you find natural; for giving isn’t just for a week. It’s for life.
