This year was a big one for Giving.sg. Here are a few of our favourite moments from the year, we hope you loved them as much as we did!
That time we met Akram and Brandon
In May, we shone the spotlight on sports disability and produced our first ever cause-based video! We invited Brandon, a badminton enthusiast, to a one-of-a-kind badminton match that turned out to be much tougher than he expected.
We had so much fun meeting Brandon and Akram, but most of all, we love how this video captured the hearts of our audience, and really changed how people see disability sports.
That time we celebrated Father’s Day with these special dads
Our Father’s Day feature was one that touched our hearts, and reminded us how much our dads do for us, even if they aren’t always perfect. We peeked into the lives of three fathers: Eddie from a gangster to father at 40; Suan Joo who sees fatherhood as a new beginning and Thomas who is still learning day-by-day to be a father.
It’s not Father’s Day, but we shouldn’t need a Hallmark holiday to appreciate our father figures. Read the full story of Eddie, Suan Joo and Thomas, and don’t forget to give your father a hug!
That time we gave our platform a brand new look
After months of staring at colour palettes, agonising over copy and fixing bugs, we finally launched version 2.0 of Giving.sg! Our new platform now boasts new features such as wishlists for charities to list the items they need, a group modules to suit the needs of ground-up movements and corporates, and a even new payment gateway. The old features remains too, but we’ve made it even easier to donate, volunteer and fundraise now.

That time we hit the $100 million mark
That’s right, more than $100 million has been donated on Giving.sg (and our predecessor SG Gives). What’s even more impressive is that $50 million of this was donated in the last 2 years alone!
This milestone is a huge one for our team, and we have all our users to thank for it! We also see it as encouragement for us to continue improving our platform, to help more charities meet their needs.

15 December was the biggest donation day of 2017, and together we raised over $1.4 million for our charities!
