National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) operates a national trusted platform for matching donors and volunteers to registered charities in Singapore. We are looking for a passionate and creative individual with competent UX/UI skills at identifying problem statements and devising elegant solutions to eliminate complexity and confusion.

As a member of the Digital Innovation team, you don’t merely create online experiences but also act as a change agent to create and influence creative and technical solutions in the social service sector to enable success stories.

Responsibilities

This role serves as a unique hybrid of business, creative and technical with the ability to operate as a business analyst, UX designer and occasional technical lead.

  • Create strategies for a wide range of user, business and marketing goals. Defines complex problems by using research, conceptualisation of sketches and wireframes, information architecture.
  • Has an precise eye for detail on execution, and design inspirational, intuitive, engaging and elegant usable experiences by placing user first while balancing business needs.
  • Possess expert knowledge in user-centered design principles, visual design, user behaviour and interactions.
  • Uses a variety of qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques, as well as user feedback, to make critical design decisions to continually improve user experience.
  • Facilitate usability and ideation studies, as well as work with stakeholders to define, validate and shape the definition and direction of a specific requirement or solution for the development team.
  • Participate in co-creation sessions with stakeholders and manage requirements by continuously clarifying and reviewing them via prototype walkthrough with stakeholders.
  • Comfortable presenting and selling design solutions to stakeholders and ensure success of the strategy with innate ability to champion the best user experience.
  • Responsible for end-to-end design and creation of online experiences for stakeholders including but not limited to websites and mobile solutions.
  • Drive the design and work collaboratively with the Product Owner, development team and leads to generate thoughtful, innovative and relevant creative strategies to ensure UI/UX designs conform to usability goals.
  • Work with development team and stakeholders to plan and participate, coordinate and monitor progress, and acceptance of UAT.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years relevant working experience as a UX/UI designer.
  • Expert level of competence in user experience design, information architecture, interaction design and rapid prototyping.
  • High degree of creativity, empathy, passion and problem-solving ability.
  • In-depth knowledge of market research and test methods, with proven experience in solving complex problems and designing elegant solutions.
  • Work independently, takes ownership of problems within own area of knowledge and accountable for the quality of own work.
  • Highly motivated in problem-solving with strong investigative skills, with expert communication, visualisation and story-telling skills to achieve buy-in.
  • Able to manage business stakeholders, partners and external vendors.
