Senior Manager, Strategy

Impact

The Senior Manager, Strategy, is responsible for maintaining and growing relationships with key public sector partners, as well as ensuring that the organisation’s business planning processes are effective and efficient. He/she reports to the Director, Strategy.

The Strategy team is responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing the organisational strategy and defining short and long-term outcomes that advance NVPC’s vision and mission
  • Defining NVPC’s strategic positioning leveraging its unique strengths and role in the external giving landscape
  • Understanding the external environment, trends, and developments on giving and implications on the organisation’s strategy
  • Leading the strategic planning process including programme reviews, tracking and assessment of progress towards goals to ensure alignment with their original intent
  • Driving and managing partnerships with key government stakeholders to advance NVPC’s strategic objectives and influence policies and programmes with national impact

Responsibilities

Government Relations

  • Support relationship management for key government and government-related stakeholders including research and analysis to prioritise opportunities, manage engagement requests, follow-up and coordination (internal and external), and report on progress
  • Serve as secretariat for meetings with key partners
  • Help coordinate with funder(s) and related teams

Strategy Development & Implementation

  • Support development and implementation of organisational strategy including:
    • Monitoring of global giving trends
    • Providing intelligence and analyses to support strategic decision-making on programmes/products/initiatives
    • Coordination of teams to facilitate learning/sharing of info, help spot cross-selling opportunities, and enable overall integration

Business Planning

  • Provide oversight of quarterly progress reporting and mid-year key programme reviews

Other

  • Support Deputy CEO for key meetings/collaborations as needed
  • Lead special projects as needed
  • Support project activities and consult across teams as required
  • Mentor team members

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business Management
  • At least 10 years’ relevant experience
  • Understanding of business analysis and business requirements gathering discipline preferred
  • Self-starter/entrepreneurial spirit
  • High functioning organisational skills and ability to prioritise multiple demands
  • Ability to work independently as well as with teams
  • Ability to demonstrate executive presence with C-level partners
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, business acumen and interpersonal skills
  • Strong prioritisation, planning, and analytical skills
  • Goal oriented and personally accountable; resourceful and self-directed
