Senior Manager, Communications & Media Relations

Marketing and Advocacy Full-time - Permanent


The Senior Manager in Communications & Media Relations is responsible for the smooth operational and implementation of NVPC’s communications’ strategies, public relations activities and media engagement and monitoring. This includes managing and designing of content for communications in media engagement, media spokespersons, ensuring consistency of messaging in all the digital assets/media of NVPC,, websites etc – where applicable), roll out publicity for NVPC’s key initiatives and providing communications support to the different teams in NVPC with the goal of promoting the giving agenda in Singapore.


  • Responsible for co-creating, implementing and measuring the success of a comprehensive communications and PR programme that will enhance the organisation’s image and position within the marketplace and the general public, and facilitate internal and external communications and all of NVPC’s PR activities and materials including publications, media relations, stakeholder engagement and so forth.
  • Responsible for the smooth day-to-day corporate communications functions such as news monitoring, events reporting (seasonal), compiling content and/or resources, facilitate media queries and requests. Ensure website and other digital content channels are updated and current.
  • Responsible for the success in organising media conferences and/or facilitating interviews and queries including, developing the suite of collaterals and literature that go into hosting a media conference and/or preparing the spokespersons for interviews or responding to the media requests and queries.
  • Working with key stakeholders in NVPC to support their communications needs for projects or campaigns so that the messaging and branding aligns.
  • Ability to identify, create, aggregate and pitch content within and in the landscape so that NVPC can offer its view, be heard, be seen and be role modelled for – in our efforts to bring about partnerships and collaborations to achieve our vision of a Giving Nation. Crucial to be in tune with societal issues and concerns.
  • Comfortable working with diversified stakeholders and its groups, such as presenting plans, mapping out the strategy and/or guiding the process of a communications approach.


  • Degree in PR, Marketing, Communications or Journalism
  • At least 8 years of experience in PR and communications related work and has relevant experience working with different types of stakeholders in the public service, corporate sector and/or non-profit space.
  • Savvy with strategic communications and/or community relations, media engagement. Understands how to work well with the key stakeholders (such as journalists, senior spokespersons, story sources) in the content and amplification matrix. Is a super native in the burgeoning online spaces.
  • Graphic communications skills such as putting out a communications piece in an infographics or visual format.
  • Ability to present during media interviews where necessary.
  • Adept at writing and presenting for different genres (preferably effectively bi-lingual), especially in corporate communications
  • Ability to present and communicate and articulate confidently ideas, plans and organise meetings, discussions and conferences.
  • Proficient knowledge of working on publications – offline and online.
  • Positive can-do attitude

  • Meticulous and hawk-eyed for details especially in proofreading, editing and/or analysis of stats
  • Team player and team leader; where opportunity and occasion calls for it.
  • Not afraid to play the Devil’s advocate; resourceful.
  • Able to work with varying levels of stakeholders and manage the role and scope well with clear deliverables.
  • Systematic and structured especially in project management – is a stickler for deadlines and submissions
  • Ability to speak out respectfully with suggestions and solutions
