Assistant Manager, Volunteer Experience Programme (Contract)

Impact

NVPC leads and catalyses transformations in volunteerism and philanthropy, to build up a City of Good comprising compassionate and engaged communities. You will be part of a people-centric and dynamic team, involved in working with different nonprofit stakeholders, to strengthen and deepen volunteerism in Singapore through the Volunteer Experience Programme (VEP). The VEP is NVPC’s curated programme for participants to:

  • Experience volunteering at different Nonprofit Organisations (NPOs).
  • Explore diverse causes for longer term volunteering commitment (sectors include: environment, health, social and sports).
  • Create a transformative experience that motivates them to consider volunteering regularly

Responsibilities

  • Develop and adapt the VEP to new user segments eg employees in corporates
  • Plan, manage and execute VEP sessions for programme participants.
  • Facilitate VEP activities and discussions to provide meaningful volunteering sessions to the participants.
  • Evaluate suggested improvements to the VEP and implement them, where appropriate, on an on-going basis.
  • Develop partnerships with VEP key stakeholders (from nonprofit and public sectors) to sustain rapport and smooth collaboration for running the programme.
  • Identify, document and build upon the good practices involved in VEP operations
  • Develop strategies to leverage on VEP to drive traffic to Giving.sg and promote it as a platform for volunteering and donating.
  • Review and evaluate VEP systems and processes as a whole, in relation to the key stakeholders and the Giving.sg system, for holistic enhancements.
  • Support various cross-functional NVPC workstreams, e.g. Giving Week, Groundup Sandbox sessions, where required.

Requirements

  • Degree in Social Science / Business / Marketing
  • More than 3 years of working experience in the non-profit sector, preferably in volunteer management capacit
  • Prior experience in developing partnerships / relationship management
  • Good understanding and grasp of issues pertaining to non-profit sector work
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong people skills, with experience in multi-lateral engagement with key stakeholder groups
  • Interest and passion for social causes
  • Outgoing and comfortable in meeting and talking to people
  • Self-driven and motivated
  • Team-player

This is a 2-years contract position, with an option to extend for the 3rd year depending on performance of the selected candidate.
