There is potential for fundraising online as most households in Singapore have access to the internet. Fundraisers who apply donation-friendly practices on their websites will be better placed to raise funds online.

Children and Youths (2009)
Children and youth are generally part of a system including their family, peer group, school and neighbourhood. What happens within the system would impact children. Some children and youth face growing pains. For example, they may need help coping with home and school, arising perhaps from issues with parenting styles, inadequate care from parents (which may arise from marital difficulties or single parenthood, and financial difficulties) or bullying in school. Others may, due to family circumstances or because of learning difficulties, find it hard to cope with school.

Families and Family Service Centres (2009)
Families in Singapore may face one or more issues, sometimes at the same time. For example, a child or youth in a family may have issues with parenting styles or even inadequate care from parents. An adult may have to deal with work and family responsibilities including parenting and caring for elderly parents and in-laws, and marital difficulties or single parenthood, and financial difficulties. Family issues may be compounded when families are re-constituted, become transnational (eg spouse works overseas), "sandwiched", or have family members who are born or become ill or disabled.

Published by the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC), the book features case studies of 13 corporate givers, including NVPC award winners, drawn from various organisations in different industries. From bottom-up initiatives to multi-national corporations to smaller outfits drawn into volunteering through their umbrella organisations, corporate giving is more than just making donations to charities. It is about giving time, talent and treasure, and there are many meaningful ways to give.

NVPC estimated that nationally, in 2004, total annual volunteering hours was 35 million hours. The estimated financial value of total volunteer time was S$746 million.
NVPC’s 2003 study of 24 organisations that engaged volunteers found that for 75% of the organisations surveyed, every $1 invested in volunteers yielded a return that covered the $1 to over four times the investment. There were also non-economic benefits. For example, over 80% of volunteers experienced a sense of achievement from volunteerism.
